BCBGMAXAZRIA Group: Resort 2013 Collections
BCBG is one of my all-time favorite brands so I was extremely excited at the chance to preview their Resort 2013 collections. From BCBGMAXAZRIA Runway to Hervé Léger by Max Azria and all of the amazing collections in between (BCBGeneration, Manoukian (launching in the US this fall!), BCBGMAXAZRIA and Max & Cleo) I was in love with all that I saw! I can't even choose a favorite collection out of them all because there were stunning pieces from each one but the studded accessories and bombshell bomber jackets in BCBGMAXAZRIA Runway are amongst the top of the chain.

Koolaburra: F/W 12 Press Preview
Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Koolaburra F/W 12 Press Preview at the Ace Hotel Lofts in NYC. The brand is famous for its sheepskin boots, sandals and footwear, which have been worn by celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Britney Spears, Kate Hudson, Miley Cyrus and Lauren Conrad to name just a few. With the myriad of sheepskin boots and similar styles available these days, it is amazing that this brand has recently introduced a sheepskin that is waterproof! I know a problem with my sheepskin boots is that they now have a nasty permanent stain around the edge from wearing them in adverse weather but thank you Koolaburra for a sheepskin boot that we can actually wear on those stormy days and nights.
Besides the innovative new waterproof sheepskin boots unique to Koolaburra, I found one of their most interesting characteristics to be the fact that they juxtapose their collections against eclectic soundtracks of music. Anyone that loves art and creativity know how two elements such as fashion and music influence one another and Koolaburra has tuned into that notion to create a unique aspect for their brand with their soundtracks of modern and classic songs incorporated into each collection.

In addition to their traditional sheepskin styles, Koolaburra has been expanding its offering to include other footwear styles which this season include chunky heels, wedge sneaks, and the incorporation of prints such as the ikat featured below. I loved a lot of the styles, especially the wedge sneakers of which I am craving a pair for my closet, and the mesh cork-wedge heels from their Spring 2013 collection. I'll be looking out for future Koolaburra collections and hopefully soon I'll be one of the ladies sporting a pair.

Birthday Night! Bday Post #2 of 2
Hello loves! I am sorry it has been so long since I've updated but after my birthday/memorial weekend it was straight back to work at my internship. Thus, I've been quite busy with that as well as trying to take my boyfriend sightseeing after work. Not to mention, I moved into a new apt which doesn't have WiFi so it's a struggle to find a spot in Starbucks or Burger King or any other nearby place with WiFi. Nevertheless, here are some pics from the night of my Bday including my wonderful gifts!

Birthday Bright! Bday Post #1
Happy Birthday to me! =) Today, May 27, is my birthday and it is the first time I've ever celebrated in NYC. Not only is it great to be able to celebrate in one of the fashion capitals of the world but it is all the better because my boyfriend is here to visit and spend the day with me. So we have been exploring the city today (it's his first time in NYC and the US in general), eating and drinking a little wine to start off my birthday.

Jeepers Creepers!
These shoes are slyly making their way onto the fashion scene. I noticed them in London's Camden Market last year and honestly thought, "What the...?" and figured I'd leave that one to the goth scene. However, now that I've seen more tame versions, considering the shorter height than the other VERY thick heels that I've seen on other pair, I feel like I could definitely give these shoes a try. They are functional and look very comfortable. Not to mention I love the way they can be paired with a chic skirt (like the picture below) or dress and still work beautifully. Ahhh, the joys of fashion.
Are you daring enough to give them a try? Don't be scared! They're just creepers!

One day in the city...
Enjoying my weekend off in NYC....
And of course I would stumble across a Ukrainian street festival the week before my boyfriend (who is Ukrainian, for the unknowing) arrives in the city -____-

Bar III Penthouse: Macy's Impulse Showing
On Wednesday evening, I was invited to attend an exclusive event for the upcoming Macy's Impulse Fall collection. The showing was held at Bar III Penthouse, an airy spacious loft inside of a dodgy looking building (sorry but it definitely didn't look like the right place when I first walked in lol). This Macy's collection features Women's Wear, Men's Wear and Home products and is only carried at select Macy's stores around the country.
The collection for the fall season featured a tribal inspiration with various exotic prints, a mix of natural textures and bold, warm colors contrasted against neutral earth tones. At the Bar III Penthouse they also served BBQ hoer d'oeuvres, Coronas and San Pellegrino, as well as adorable little desserts of vanilla and chocolate push-up cakes. Yep, push-up cakes not pops.
I can honestly say I loved the collection and plan to look for a Macy's that carries the Impulse collection when it drops later this summer. However, if there's none close by there is always that great little invention called the Internet as the entire collection will be featured online.
Be sure to click "read more" for even more pictures from this great event! =)
Great textures and prints with an earthy, tribal feel were in abundance at the Macy's Impulse event. |

Vanilla push-up cakes. Creative AND tasty! |
I'll definitely be keeping these home products in mind for my upcoming move to Cali. There's a lot more to view under the full post. |
These lovely ladies had effortless chic down to a science! The sheer printed blouses worked great on them. |
One of the many great views that I captured from the penthouse. |
