Students and Style

My school (soon to be Alma Mater), Howard University was voted as the number two best-dressed college in the nation not long ago by The Huffington Post. But it is nothing new for HU to be featured or known for its fashion. It's normal, expected even, for students to dress to the nines for Econ class or  throw on a pair of heels to chill on the yard. Being around this group of creative, eclectic individuals in my last weeks here makes me realize how much I cherish and will miss the inspiration I gain from them everyday.

She has a beautiful spirit and creative personality- It's Rayla!

  1. Wow! At my uni people went to class in pajamas. Great style! Love Amanda's outfit so much. Wish I was skinny enough to rock that look, haha.

    1. Lol, thank you! Yes, Amanda is one of my friends that ALWAYS dresses so nice. Here, it's not so common for people to wear pj's or sweats to class.

  4. Wow I'm extremely impressed by the comfortable atmosphere at your university! Here in Boston, people will give you glaring looks if you wear high heels on a daily basis let alone with a cropped/mid drift top or even more ethnic like in the first picture. I wish I was in an environment like yours!

    1. Thank you, Jane! Don't let what people think stop you from expressing your style. We have to be able to express our creativity as much as we want or else we will stifle it!

  6. HU, does have some fashionable students! I love going down Georgia Ave in the spring and seeing the young ladies in everything from vintage pieces to off the runway designer looks...I always wondered, how do you run across campus in stilettos? However they do it, they look good doing it!

Hey, is Soul Veg still open on Georgia Ave?!

    1. Lol thanks so much! And hmm I'm not sure about that place. I know there is a place called Everlasting Life cafe which specializes in vegetarian/vegan food. Maybe this is the place with a new name?

    2. I think thats it! They have the best breakfast! My son and I went there for whole wheat pancakes, scrambled tofu, potatoes and fresh squeezed orange juice...OMG, we were going to go back over the bridge (to NoVA) to eat but that plate didn't make it to Reagan National. I love that place!

      Anyway, I love your blog!
