I was exploring downtown Fayetteville, NC, around Hay St., and just so happened to run into a cool English mini complete with British flag painted on the rooftop. It matched my blue vintage heels perfectly! Not only did the old-school English car give me a vintage feel, but the entire downtown had a classic, antique style that inspired me, from the brick walls to the rugged buildings, and I plan to visit again to discover other areas it may have to offer.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet...
I was in love with the nature and pure bliss of the Fayetteville Rose Garden. At first, I actually got lost and stumbled upon this fountain and the surrounding beautiful bushes but eventually I made my way into the romantic rose garden...the scenery made me feel like I was back in Europe, walking in a landscaped park during the cool of evening and daydreaming despite the fact that I was realistically in blistering southern American weather. Goes to show you can find your dream environment anywhere if you keep your eyes open because it's not the name of the place that counts, (what's in a name...? as Shakespeare once wrote), yet what the subject actually is...

Closet Thriving Thrift Haul
I've been partaking in some amazing retail therapy the last couple of weeks. While the small North Carolina town that I'm in doesn't offer much in the way of popular retail stores, i.e. Zara, H&M, Mango (I miss you), they have many hidden gems of thrift stores if you look. My sister and I went on a thrift store adventure around Fayetteville recently and we were not disappointed by far! After visiting about 5 different shops, I brought home a great load of stuff for my closet, as if my clothes aren't already fighting for enough space. The best part, however, was that everything I purchased came to a total of about $30! Gotta love second-hand stores....

A little scuffed but well worth the $2... |

Birthday Night! Bday Post #2 of 2
Hello loves! I am sorry it has been so long since I've updated but after my birthday/memorial weekend it was straight back to work at my internship. Thus, I've been quite busy with that as well as trying to take my boyfriend sightseeing after work. Not to mention, I moved into a new apt which doesn't have WiFi so it's a struggle to find a spot in Starbucks or Burger King or any other nearby place with WiFi. Nevertheless, here are some pics from the night of my Bday including my wonderful gifts!

Birthday Bright! Bday Post #1
Happy Birthday to me! =) Today, May 27, is my birthday and it is the first time I've ever celebrated in NYC. Not only is it great to be able to celebrate in one of the fashion capitals of the world but it is all the better because my boyfriend is here to visit and spend the day with me. So we have been exploring the city today (it's his first time in NYC and the US in general), eating and drinking a little wine to start off my birthday.

Selina
As I was leaving graduation this weekend, my sister and I spotted a head-to-toe fashionista and luckily, she stopped her for a picture! We found out that her name is Selina and the beautiful necklace she is wearing is from her mother's own boutique (If you see this Selina, PLEASE send me the info to your mom's boutique so I can feature). Her shoes are from Zara and dress, I believe from H&M, and wow did she wear it well! The colors were beautiful and the outfit was not at all overdone. Perfect for a sunny day at a graduation and any events that she may have taken a part of after.

Graduation Gown and Dinner
After graduation on Friday, I joined my mama and my sister at "Le Meridien" hotel for dinner and drinks. The hotel in Arlington, VA was absolutely beautiful and the restaurant inside had great food and great views. I managed to do a quick photo-shoot with my sister before dinner wearing my graduation gown and accessories. I settled on a long, pink, pleated (haha go figure) gown that I had bought during Spring Break in London's Camden Market. It turned out to be an airy and elegant choice for the day's events.

Bison Ball 2012
I attended Bison Ball last night which is an annual event held by my school, Howard University. It is a time for students to have fun at one last major dance in a classy environment. I wore a black and white long, pleated, backless gown by KNT (Kova and T) from Urban Outfitters. The top part was black and the pleats were white. I added a heap of bracelets on each arm, silver, crystal hoop earrings and a "magazine"-like clutch for accessories. Then, I decided to go with dark purple lips and nails and white and black snake-skin peep-toe stilettos by Colin Stuart. I really loved the look and received a lot of compliments, plus Bison Ball turned out to be a really fun and great night!
